Share:

The Department of National Defense (DND) announced the cancellation of their agreement with the University of the Philippines (UP) regarding the restraint of government forces entering at the university without the permission of the school.

According to Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, the said institution is becoming a breeding ground for c0mmunist r3bels.

“The agreement has become obsolete… University of the Philippines has become the breeding ground of intransigent individuals and groups whose extremist beliefs have inveigled students to join their ranks to f!ght against the government…The Department of National Defense will neither renege nor shirk on its duty to protect the rights of the majority,” said Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Opposition Senator Kiko Pangilinan's daughter immediately took up the issue. Frankie said, the current administration is scared.

“red-tagging students just proves how insecure and thr3atened this administration has become. protect our students. def3nd our rights. be brave… this sort of unprovoked desperation from the establishment only proves that change IS possible, and likely very close — continue to speak out and f!ght for what’s right. we stand with you,” said Kakie.

What Kakie said is similar to the tone of his father's post. “Tinutulan natin ang panghihimasok ng diktad0r noon. UP is a citadel of freedom and democracy. No to the unilateral and arbitrary termination of the Enrile-Soto Accord. Pakiusap lang. Please don’t mess with UP.” said Sen. Kiko.
