In his social media post, Sonza lambasted Santos and explained that Kapamilya Network cannot be renewed because the station no longer has a franchise.
“Cong. Vilma Santos, What renewal are talking about? There is nothing to renew because the network has no live or existing franchise to begin with. Ang dami nang b0bo sa Kongreso, huwag mo ng idagdag ang sarili mo sa bilang nila. Tapatin mo ang bayan, Ate Vi, Huwag na tayong magbolahan pa, magkano ba talaga ang dahilan?” said Sonza.
It will be recalled that under the leadership of Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, the congress rejected the franchise application of the Kapamilya Network.
Some of the issues seen were ABS-CBN's poor treatment to some of its employees, the tax avoidance scheme, and many others.
“It is what it is — a denial of a privilege granted by the State because the applicant was seen as undeserving of the grant of a legislative franchise. By no means can this franchise application be related to press freedom.
