Thousands of netizens on social media have asked Vice President Leni Robredo not to run in the next election and to retire from politics.

In a change.org petition "We do not want Leni as President", netizens who have now reached more than 15,000 have asked the vice president to "maghunos dili" to run for the top position.

Some netizens expressed their reasons for not supporting the said petition.

“She was overlooked last 2016 NE. If she wasn't perhaps she was with the others to in0d0ro. But since some magic hands touches the results, she became the VP, but I believed in my own opinion she's aware of the events going to happen. To make sure LP have at least 2nd highest official, sad to say they can't put a good man down.” according to Jan Dee.

The petition was made to counter the campaign launched by Robredo's supporters "I am ready for Leni" which garnered more than 6000 signatures.

“It is our deepest desire to see the Philippines back on its way to being one of the most economically progressive, politically transparent, humane and respected countries in Asia. We believe that Vice President Leni Robredo can lead us to this goal by leading the country as the next duly-elected President in 2022,” according to the said group behind I am Ready For Leni.

News5 reported the said petition to persuade Robredo to run for President of the Philippines. RJ Nieto challenged the said network to also announce the petition urging Robredo to retire from politics.

“Oi News5, eto over 10k sigs na in less than 24 hrs. Yung isa niyong eksena, 2k sigs lang in three days, ibinalita niyo na. Ibabalita niyo ba it? Kung paid PR ops yung nauna, pwede magtanong ng rates?” according to RJ Nieto or better known as Thinking Pinoy.

The OVP has not yet issued a statement on the two petitions.
