According to Mayor Isko, all politicians dream of becoming President of the Philippines. So he considers running in a higher position, but he needs to think it first thoroughly. For Mayor Isko, he will first prioritize the important problems of his constituency and will answer the public at the right time.
“Lahat kaming mga politiko, the moment sinawsaw namin ang paa namin sa putik ng politika or sa kalsada ng politika lahat kami at the back of our mind wish to get to the highest position (President).” said Mayor Isko.
He said he will not imitate what other politicians did who pretended not to be a president but ran. “Hindi ko gagawin yung kunwari ayaw (tumakbong Presidente) pero gusto, nabili na ‘yun eh, hindi ko kayo ilalagay sa waiting game, we have to be decisive with our decision,” added Isko.

The Manila Mayor did not mention any name but it will be recalled that former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte said several times in 2015 that he do not want to become a President but later ran for the presidency.
“Yung lider na pipiliin natin ay hindi pwedeng magagalit-galitin, hindi pwedeng matatampu-tampuhin, hindi pwedeng may tantrums, hindi pwedeng divisive,” continued Isko.
Mayor Isko is also happy because he is considered as one of the possible future leaders of the Philippines.
“I swear to God thank you, akalain mo na basurero lang ako, maging Mayor lang ako ang laki ng blessing, not every garbage collector literally from the slum ay magiging Mayor tapos ngayon kinokonsider nyo ako (na maging Presidente) salamat sa inyo, I’m really grateful,” added the Manila Mayor.
