
In an interview with Paredes, the legendary OPM icon shared that he has been living abroad since April last year. He is still busy writing his own song and he is also teaching music to Australians.
Paredes is also proud of the country he is now living where the locals are said to be immediately notified if there is a dis3ase spreading in their area. Sometimes, there were days with no cases at all.
Paredes, on the other hand, criticized what the Philippine government is doing at the moment.

“Kapag may nahuling sikat, okay lang pababayaan, pag mahirap na tao grabe ang parusa, e what kind of signal are you sending?” he added.
The OPM Singer believes that the public is willing to cooperate and the people of the Philippines are law abiding citizens. “Naniniwala ako na with the proper information, sumusunod tayo, pero ang problema nga hindi consistent,” he said.
Paredes also was asked if he will enter politics in the next election. “Wala akong plano, I’m an artist, if I serve at all. I don’t know in what capacity, I’ll give it a few at most maybe two. I can’t even see myself lasting that long, but you know if its service to the nation, it’s just gonna be a very humble service,” he answered. “I don’t need any more fame, honestly, kaya gustong gusto ko dito, sasakay ako ng tren, ng bus walang nakakakilala sakin, naka tsinelas lang ako, biro mo?” he added.

Paredes promised to return to the Philippines when the situation in the country improves. He also has a message for the public. “We deserve better,” he said.
