Mayor Inday: "Gamitin Natin ang Budget sa mga taong kulang ang pambili ng pagkain"

Despite the left and right calls and encouragement of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s supporters to run for President in the upcoming 2022 Presidential Election, Mayor Inday issued an instruction. 

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa suporta ng mga naniniwala sa akin at sa aking abilidad. Pakiusap ko po, sana ‘huwag tayo mag-motorcade dahil una, magastos sa gasolina. Ibigay natin ang budget sa motorcade sa mga taong kulang ang pambili ng pagkain,” according to Inday Sara.

“Pangalawa, maaabala natin ang traffic at ibang motorista at pangatlo, ang paggamit ng sasakyan sa hindi importanteng lakad ay nakakapagpalala ng air pollution,” added the mayor.

 

Sara Duterte's supporters gathered early, led by the Alyansa Ni Inday Movement, sh0uting the words "Run, Inday, Run". The group believes that Mayor Sara should sit as the next President of the Philippines to continue the good things started by her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

This is despite Mayor Sara Duterte's strong stance that she has no intention of running for President of the country. President Duterte himself had previously said that he would not allow his child to run.

One of the supporters said that they are only there to support. He added that it is not part of the campaign and they also had no connection with the Duterte Family. The Mayor also did not know them.

“Ito po’y bunga ng isang boluntarismo. Wala po itong bayad o hindi po kami naglilikom ng anumang pera. Ito po’y ambag-ambagan lang po talaga, kanya-kanya po itong pag-aambag,” according to Dr. Alvin Sahagun, President of the Alyansa Ni Inday Movement.

They motorcade along EDSA and stopped briefly at the People Power Monument. Then they motorcade again in Commonwealth Avenue.

Meanwhile, the Alyansa Ni Inday group clarified that they are not the ones behind the tarpaulins scattered in Metro Manila with the words “Run Sara Run Para sa Bayan 2022 ″.

According to the group, they do not encourage the use of tarpaulins because apart from being messy, they only need to hear their voices.

 

The group added that they respect the Mayor's decision if she does not want to run and they are also ready to support the candidate that Mayor Inday will support.

"Narinig ko po ang panawagan nila at ‘di na kailangan mag-motorcade at mag-tarpaulin. Kung gusto niyo po tulungan ako, gamitin natin ang pera para sa mga nagugutom,” said Mayor Sara Duterte.
