According to the lawyer, they were not given a permit but those who rallied against the anti-t3rror law were allegedly given a permit by Manila City Hall.
“Yung Manila City Hall ay ayaw kaming bigyan ng permit na mag-rally sa harap ng COMELEC. Attention kay Mayor Isko Moreno. Sir, nag-apply po kami ng permit. Ang rally namin dapat ay Feb. 4. Indignation rally ito sa harap ng COMELEC. So hindi kami binigyan ng mga tauhan niyo ng permit dahil covid. Pero ‘yung iba binigyan nila ng permit, ‘yung nag-rally sa korte suprema, sa anti-t3rror law, nag-rally sila doon, eh bakit sila binigyan ng permit.” said Atty. Chong.

Atty. Chong even challenged Mayor Isko to show his braveness. “Karapatan namin ihayag ang ga*lit namin sa sindikat0ng COMELEC at Smartmatic. Kung ayaw niyong bigyan, ano pong ibig sabihin nun? Takot po kayo sa sind!kato? Ipakita niyo po sa amin na hindi kayo takot sa s!ndikato,” added Chong.
Mayor Isko recently said that he is considering whether to run for a higher position in 2022.

“Lahat kaming mga politiko, the moment sinawsaw namin ang paa namin sa putik ng politika or sa kalsada ng politika lahat kami at the back of our mind wish to get to the highest position (President). Hindi ko gagawin yung kunwari ayaw (tumakbong Presidente) pero gusto, nabili na ‘yun eh, hindi ko kayo ilalagay sa waiting game, we have to be decisive with our decision,” said Mayor Isko.
