This is how former Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Marichu Mauro described President Duterte's approval to remove her from office, after news spread that she mistreated her own Filipina maid seen in CCTV inside the diplomatic residence.
“I signed the document affirming the decision which metes out the p3nalty of dism!ssal from the service, with the accessory p3nalties of cancellation of the eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, perpetual disqualification of holding public office and bar from taking civil service examination. Iyan ho ang parusa niya,” said President Duterte.
According to Mauro, this decision against her was not fair, especially the Department of Foreign Affairs did not listen carefully to her side about what really happened.

It will be recalled that in the CCTV footage that was reported by Globo News in Brazil, Mauro allegedly maltreated her 51-year-old maid, who is also a Filipina. There were instances caught on camera sla*pping the said maid, squeezing and hitting her with an umbrella.

“I completely regret the incidents in the videos and the shame it has brought upon the Department of Foreign Affairs. I want to reassure the public that I have made amends and have deeply regretted my behavior. I have asked my kasambahay’s forgiveness, which she has given.” explained Mauro.
“Personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Brazil attested in their sworn affidavits that this serious br3ach of security through ill3gal wiretapping was c0mmitted by the Brazilian local hires, one of whom was fired with DFA’s authority. These selected footages were ill3gally and stealthily obtained, patched together and eventually released to the Brazilian media to sham3 and embarrass me,” added the former ambassador.
Mauro continued, saying that the result of the decision would have been easier if the v3rdict had been fair to her.

Mauro had earlier said that the maid had been working for them almost 30 years, and that she considered the incident a "family problem".
