“Running for president remains a possibility, if only I have sufficient resources, it would be easy for me to decide,” according to Robredo.
“If I run for president, I need to be really ready, not just for the job but for the fight, and that’s where the problem is. You know that I don’t have the resources. As in all my other elections, I’m open to all possibilities. I’m OK with various positions. We are thinking of where I can best serve,” Robredo said in a separate interview.
But, according to Robredo, she is more in favor to run for the local position. “So if I have a choice, honestly, I prefer local. I’m not saying for governor, there are many local positions, it can be congressman or mayor,” said Robredo.
She also said that there are personalities who urge her daughter Aika to run for politics. “I don’t know if she has changed her mind, but in 2019 when she was asked to run for mayor or vice governor she declined. When I was asked if Aika would like to run for governor, I told them why Aika, why not me? So, I was the one who started that discussion,” revealed Robredo.
The vice president stressed out that she will announce her decision in September or a month before filing of the certificate of candidacy for the 2022 elections. She also assured her supporters that she will think carefully about her decision.
“So sa akin ganoon naman, pinagdadasal lagi. Pinagdadasal lagi na gabayan tayo sa pagdesisyon. Pero kung ano iyong makakabuti sa lahat – kapag kausap ko naman iyong mga kakampi, iyon iyong parati kong sinasabi na maging bukas tayo sa lahat na possibilities,” added Robredo.
