Panoorin: Binuksan na ng SMC ang 2 Lanes sa Skyway Extension ng Northbound Section

Good news mga Kababayan! San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has already opened two of the three Skyway Extension lanes of the northbound section.

According to the private company of SMC, the toll for the 4-km segment of the said lanes is temporarily free.

"We are confident that this will further reduce congestion with EDSA and the growth of provinces in Southern Luzon and beyond, ” said Ramon Ang, the President and Chief Operating Officer of SMC. 

SMC added that the four - kilometer stretch from Susana Heights Sucat, Paranaque was opened to Class 1 vehicles with RFID last Sunday, April 11, 2021, 4:00 pm.

Last March when the structure and asphalt application for the said extension was completed.

 

The said northbound section will allow or direct connection to the elevated Skyway System for motorists coming from some provinces such as Cavite, Laguna, Batangas without having to travel along Alabang.

With this lanes, they can go straight to their destinations in Manila, Quezon City, Makati and up to the North Luzon Expressway using Skyway Stage 3, if they come from the South Luzon Expressway. 

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar shared on his social media account a video where he was driving along the newly opened northbound section of the Skyway Extension. He posted the hashtags #BuildBuildBuild to it.

In January, SMC announced Skyway Stage 3, a project that will connect the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). The said project covers the construction of an 18.83-kilometer elevated expressway from Buendia, Makati City to NLEX in Balintawak, Quezon City.

The project aims to shorten the trip between Buendia and Balintawak by 15 to 20 minutes, which usually takes at least two hours.

 

San Miguel Corporation is the parent company of CITRA Central Expressway Corporation (CCEC), which secured the P44.86-billion Skyway Stage 3 Project.

If all lanes under the said project are opened and made operational, it will be a great help to our fellow motorists to reduce the time travelled, especially now that our country is in the midst of a pand3mic and we can say that every minute is important to our family.
