Senator Binay, Pinuna ang Ribbon Cutting Para sa Modular Hospital

Senator Nancy Binay criticized the ribbon cutting as part of the inauguration of the Quezon Institute Offsite Modular Hospital built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The said facility has 110 bed capacity that can accommodate severe to cr!tical c0v1d pat!ents. 2 offsite dormitories were also built here for medical frontliners who will focus on the pati3nts.

According to Binay, the said ribbon-cutting is no longer necessary and the time is important for the families of pati3nts with c0v1d.

“Pakiusap kung pwede buksan na lang para magamit agad. Sayang lang ang oras sa ribbon cutting at photo ops,” said Binay in her tweet. “These things are unnecessary and leave a ba*d taste for families of c0v1d pati3nts who are racing against life and time,” added the senator.

Senator Binay even used the hashtags #TimeIsOfTheEssence and #BawalDinAngMassGathering to emphasize her opinion.

 

Among those who attended the said inauguration were Senator Bong Go, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, vacc!ne czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and testing czar Vince Dizon.

 

The said facility is under the operation of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, and will reportedly start receiving pati3nts through the One Hospital Command Center. It will not accept walk-in pati3nts.

 

Meanwhile, according to Treatment Czar Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, apart from the inaugurated modular hospital, there are also plans to build a similar facility at the Lung Center of the Philippines.

The issue left mixed reactions among netizens. There are those who say that the said ribbon cutting is not ba*d because it is said to be a symbol that the government is responding to the problem the country is currently facing in relation to c0v1d.
