According to the megastar, if she is the only one to be criticized, she will not pay attention to it, but when it comes to her children, it's a different matter.
Sharon said she feels as if her children are helpless because they are still young. But she believes she raised her children well including Frankie.
“I feel parang they’re helpless. They’re young and impressionable, and they’re being raised very well and as very decent human beings,” said Sharon. “So, ako yung nasasaktan for them, not because there maybe any truth to what the trolls are throwing their way. Pero mas dahil nanay ako at naiinis ako na nae-expose sa ganoong klaseng environment.” she added.
According to her, what Frankie's critics are doing may have something to do with politics. She also said that she could not stop Frankie from talking about her beliefs because she inherited this trait from her father, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
“Nadadamay yung anak ko, when actually, we all know it’s supposed to be still a free country and everyone has freedom of speech. So if she dishes it out, she has to be able to take also what comes back,” she explained. “And my daughter’s very strong, and that’s not gonna stop her from saying what she thinks, because she knows… she also represents her generation and the generation that cannot speak up because they don’t have her platform,” she added.
She said that Frankie is sensitive when it comes to the situation of her poor countrymen in the Philippines. But sometimes she says she reaches to the point where she just blocked her critics. “Minsan ano na lang, pinagtatawanan ko, idini-delete ko na lang o bina-block. Kapag sobra, minsan nagmamaldita ako once or twice, ‘tapos wala na, tapos na. Ano lang, pang-asar.”
It will be recalled that criticism rained down on her daugther Frankie for her opinion about what is happening in the country.
As a result, even her singing career has been criticized by netizens.
