Until now, the picture of the newly crowned Miss Universe 2021, Andrea Meza of Mexico, remains a puzzle to some netizens.

In the said picture, Andrea can be seen wearing a wedding dress together with a man. The photo was taken at a tourist spot in Chiuahua, Mexico.

Netizens wondered if the 26-year-old beauty queen was already married to model Jorge Saenz who was with her in the photo.

“I am immensely grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to meet her at this moment and to cross our path.” Jorge's message attached to the said photo. “Today a new stage in our lives begins and I am sure that sharing everything with you will make me the happiest person in the world.” he added.

Jorge changed the caption of the photos after it spread on social media.

 

But Andrea’s camp denied the beauty queen’s wedding and the photos were just part of a program to promote Chihuahua, Mexico.

Jorge also defended Andrea from criticisms of people who seemed to believe that they were married. “That photo is from 2019, and it is not edited. It was just a joke. Check @achihuahua profile.” explained the model.

The model also clarified that he and Andrea are only friends and he considers her as a sister. “One of the photos we took was of a wedding, which Andrea and I posted on our profiles. Andrea is a friend of mine and [like] my sister. They were taking things out of context. These photos are old and Andrea is just my friend.” said Jorge according to The Sun newspaper.

It is strictly f0rbidden for a married beauty queen to become Miss Universe before the said contest takes place.

 

In 2019, a beauty queen in Ukraine was str!pped from her title as Miss World because she was married and already had a child before she joined the said pageant.
