Even when it comes to beauty pageants, President Rodrigo Duterte has not escaped the attention of the netizens. In some Twitter posts, there are netizens who have blamed the president for the def3at of Philippine Candidate Rabiya Mateo in Miss Universe.

It will be recalled that Rabiya failed to make it into the top 10, that sadden the beauty pageant fans in the Philippines.

Screenwriter Jerry B. GrĂ¡cio was one of those who criticized President Duterte. “We lost the crown, but we still love you Rabiya. Kasalanan ito ni Duterte. We need to 0ust him to reclaim our universe.” posted Gracio.

Some netizens are in favor of what Gracio said. According to them, the image of the Philippines has been affected due to the current administration, which is why the beauty pageant has also been affected.

“Ph w0rst govt of all nations has influenced the ms univ panel of judges to push down our own RABIYA MATEO. Kasalanan lahat ang nangyari sa inter-national forum ni du30 dds. Tr0lls ph bureaucracy. Kaya, natalo ang contestant ng ph. Walang tiwala ang foreign comm sa ph leadership,” replied @tan_nonoy.

“Aminin ng admin dds trolls walang trust and confidence ang foreign comm sa leadership ng ph,” he added.

Some even said that it was better during the previous Aquino administration because the Philippines won beauty pageants.

Malacanang has not yet issued a statement on what they can say that even at the beauty pageant, some netizens are still blaming the president.

Rabiya was one of those who did not favor the President's statement that a woman cannot be a leader of the country. “We need to give them the same opportunities. And I won’t agree with something like this because I know my capabilities and my strength as a woman and I know I can make a difference, so much difference.” said Rabiya. “We need female leaders, leaders who will put their emotions in making decisions. Because it’s not all about experience. Sometimes, you really need to put your emotion and to be the mother of your land,” she added.
