According to the president, Hidilyn should just forget the negative things that happened to her then and just remember the success she is enjoying now.
“I hope that the years of toils, the years of disappointments, and the years na hindi maganda ang nangyari in the past, just forget them, you already have the gold. Gold is gold,” advised the president. “And it would be good for you to just let bygones be bygones and dwell solely on your victory, together with your family and of course with the nation,” he added.
The government has a housing project in Zamboanga for AFP members of which Hidilyn is part of the Air Force Special Service Group.
The President said he knows that Hidilyn will no longer need the house and lot because she received properties from various private companies but the athlete can give it to her immediate relatives.
“Thank you so much po President, thank you po,” said Hidilyn to the president.
Hidilyn got the gold medal for the Philippines on July 26 where she defeated her toughest rival Liao Qiuyun of China.
As a result, Hidilyn was showered with rewards from private companies that have reached more than 30-M.
