In a statement, Franz Luke Sioson Orbos said he deeply regretted his failure to show respect to the authorities who interrogated him. According to him, what he showed was wr0ng and it did not match what his parents had taught him.
“What you saw on the video is indeed regretful and contrary to how I was raised with Christian values by my loving parents, who taught me to be respectful to the proper authorities. I am deeply rem0rseful and I sincerely apologize to all who were offended by my conduct.” said Franz Luke.
“Like any human being, I have committed a m1stake and I am I am prepared to suff3r the consequences of such. This inc1dent has truly been a learning and humbling experience for me. It has moved me to rise above and beyond these unfortunate circumstances and be a better person for my family, God and country.” he added.
Franz Luke is from the powerful Orbos family in Pangasinan. In the said video, he repeatedly mentioned whether the authorities who questioned him knew who is he and his father. “Bakit niyo ko poposasan? Hindi niyo ba ako kilala? Sinong tatay ko ha?” Franz Luke asked the authorities.
He is the son of Oscar Orbos who was the former executive secretary of former President Corazon Aquino, he was also the secretary of the Department of Transportation and the governor of Pangasinan was also a congressman.
Franz Luke's father also became popular after he hosted 'Debate with Mare and Pare' with Economist Prof. Winnie Monsod.
He is also the nephew of priest Father Jerry Orbos and former MMDA General Manager Tim Orbos.
Franz Luke has now been released while his v1olation are being invest1gated.
