According to Monico Puentevella, a former Bacolod representative, Pacquiao did everything he could to meet with President Duterte to talk about the ongoing c0rruption in the government. But instead of talking, the President ignored the boxer senator and to make matters w0rse, Pacquiao received hurtful words from his ally.
“Tapos marinig mo sa ibang programa sinabi ni presidente, ito si Pacquiao ‘di marunong magbasa, tapos may mga mura pa. I expect even if you are the president, for a senator na m1nura mo, at least you owe him an apology.” Puentevella said in an interview with One News.

Puentevella also believes that the President no longer treats Pacquiao as an ally. “Wala na siguro. I’m being honest with you. Let’s call a spade a spade. Kung m1numura ka, pinalitan ka, inalis ka as president, humingi ka ng meeting at ‘di ka man lang kinausap, wala na ‘yan.” said the former congressman.
He also asked not to cr1ticize Pacquiao because he was not the one who started the f1ght. The senator is still open to talk to the President if he is invited to Malacanang.
It will be recalled that the President's statements against Pacquiao were harsh after the senator allegedly said that there is a double c0rruption that is happening in the current administration compared to the previous one.
The President also accus3d Sen. Koko Pimentel who allegedly started the trouble in PDP-Laban.
