"My father is a policeman" Jonel Nuezca, Pinagbayad ng milyon at hinatulan na ng Regional Trial Court

Seven months after the tragic d3aths of mother and son Sonia and Frank Gregorio at the hands of former Police Officer Jonel Nuezca, justice at last will be served.

According to some reports, the Tarlac Regional Trial Court has already sentenced former Police Sergeant Jonel Nuezca to double life imprisonment. He also need to pays up to P1-M pesos for the families left behind of the mother and son.

PNP Region 3 Director Brig. Gen. Val De Leon was glad to the court decision against Nuezca.

 

“Justice has been served,” said De Leon. It is not yet known whether Nuezca's family will f1ght the court's decision against him.

The Gregorio family has not yet made an official statement on the court's decision against Nuezca.

The trag1c inc1dent happened on December 20, 2020 after the Gregorio and Nuezca families argued over the noise of the ‘boga’ being fired by the v1ctims. The incident was captured by a video and spread very fast on social media. The video shows Nuezca's daughter who also participated in the f1ght shouting "my father is a policeman".

 

The former policeman voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and even asked his superior to help his daughter. “Sana matulungan niyo po ako,” said the former police. “Para sa pamilya ko nalang po. Sir inaamin ko po ‘yung pagkakamali ko. Sobrang emosyon. Nagsisisi po ako sa ginawa ko, laking pagsisisi sir. Unang-una para sa pamilya ko sir,” he added.

The Gregorio family first demanded 70-M pesos from Nuezca but it is not yet known if the court will grant it.
