Some photos allegedly taken in the Lawton underpass where its unfavorable condition can be seen are now spreading on social media.
It will be recalled that the Lawton underpass began its beautification under the leadership of Mayor Isko Moreno. But on Wednesday, netizen Edwin Jamora shared photos that allegedly showed that the said underpass served as a quarters of some homeless people.
“LAWTON UNDERPASS AS OF TODAY 9/22/21 PIC TAKEN BY ONE OF MY FOLLOWERS WHO WENT TO THE BIR AND PASSED BY THIS PLACE. “So, what happened to all the fanfare ni Isko nito? Di ba nilinis niya to with all the camera and pretty nice write-up by the Yellow and C0mmunist media? “Ang Lawton Underpass pala ay sampayan na ng mga brip. Hahahaha! Tapos gusto maging Presidente?!” posted Jamora.
Only last year, the current Manila administration start cleaning some underpasses in Manila. It is not yet known whether the said underpass is among those cleaned by the current Manila administration.
The mayor's supporters were @ngry at Jamora because of what he shared on social media. Some could not believe it, but some netizens said that the photos shared by Jamora were true.
It was found out that in August, a clearing and rescue operation took place in the said underpass because it is already inhabited by homeless people.
The Manila LGU has not yet made a statement about Jamora's posted photos of the current scenario in Lawton underpass. So far, the said photos have reached thousands of shares in social media.
