Due to the controversy that Socrates Villegas is facing right now, the open letter that was shared by the Mayor of Davao City, Inday Sara Duterte for the said archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan, came back to the minds of some netizens.

In the said open letter written by Inday Sara in 2017, the mayor boldly att@cked Villegas who has always been a critic of the Dutertes.

According to Villegas, Inday Sara's father (Rudy) destr0yed the memory of the EDSA revolution. Inday Sara, on the other hand, said that even if there were a hundred President Dutertes, it would not be able to match the ev1lness of Villegas.

The mayor explained that even before her father ruled the country, there were already ev1l things left and right that was happening in the Philippines. She also said that she could not understand why EDSA has always been the basis of the country's independence.

“I find it hard to understand why this bl00dless revolution has become the standard definition of freedom for our country and this standard is forced down our throats by a certain group of individuals who think they are better than everyone else. These are the elite and their friends, including Archbishop Villegas,” said Inday Sara.

Mayor Inday also said that the reason why her father won was also because of people like Villegas, who allegedly ign0red the wr0ng things happening in the world.

Read the open letter of Mayor Sara Duterte to Socrates Villegas:

“He won the Presidency precisely because you ign0red what was wr0ng with this world. All you desired was to put into power a leader who walks and talks like you — someone who is definitely not Rodrigo Duterte. “Your group is sadly a bunch of delusional hyp0crites.

While all of you were up there riding high on your horses, you failed to notice that many of us down here emphathize with what Rodrigo Duterte is saying because it is the hard truth. It is truly without the air of hyp0crisy that we smell from your kind.

How dare you call us p1mps of the EDSA spirit and yet it is you who cannot accept what has happening to our country since 1986.

Inday Sara also believes that her father knows what the spirit of EDSA is. “My father perfectly understood what the spirit of EDSA is, otherwise, he would not have told me to never forget that night of 31 years ago. And I now believe that he understands it better than you do. You preach about freedom as if you invented it, as if it is your gift to us. Let me tell you what freedom is. It is to live a life that is free from your selective moral standard. This is what the meaning of EDSA is.” said the mayor.

“Unfortunately for you Archbishop VIllegas, this is not a b1ased commentary on your letter to the d3ad because I am not a fan of President Duterte. But you are truly, m@dly, deeply w0rse than a hundred President Dutertes,” she added.

Inday Sara's open letter went viral and has now been deleted, but many of its copies have already spread on social media.

It will be recalled that Villegas gone viral in social media lately because of his statement about vote buying. “You may accept the money, but not because you promise to fulfill your end of the deal, but because you are in dire need for yourself and your family. You are not obliged to fulfill an imm0ral, 1llegal contract. This means, when something b@d was agreed upon, something @wful is asked of you, so whatever you do, choose God, not the candidate buying your vote,” said Villegas.
