
It will be recalled that Go's original plan was to run for vice president under PDP-Laban, but his career suddenly changed when he replaced Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa who was running for the presidency.

He knows what is the job of being a president, but he still can't get rid on his mind to withdraw from his candidacy. “Iniisip ko pa ng mabuti, nag-aantay po ako ng sign sa Panginoon. Kung sa tingin niya dito ka na lang Bong, susundin ko po. At siempre ang mga Pilipino,” he said.

Go said he is hurt by what is happening now and he is ready to sacrifice to have end to it. “I’m hurting po sa totoo lang. Nasasaktan po ako sa sitwasyon sa ngayon. Kung kailangan ko pong mag-sakripisyo para sa Pilipino, kailangan ko pong mag-sakripisyo kay Pangulong Duterte at sa pamilya, gagawin ko po. Kasi wala naman po akong ambisyon na maging pangulo,” said the senator.

Go's one of the strong opp0nents is former senator Bongbong Marcos who is in tandem with Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.
Inday Sara would have been the one Go wanted to be with in the campaign but the mayor chose to join Marcos.
