Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno's tone to President Rodrigo Duterte seems to be slowly changing. 

During his visit to Lapu-Lapu City this Monday, Moreno said Duterte is one of those he will vote for if he continues to run as senator in 2022. Other than that, the mayor also wants to endorse the president and put on his senatorial ticket.

“I’m going to vote for him, personally. I’m going to endorse him, hopefully, kung papayag siya, I’ll be honored. Nakuha ko nga siyang iboto, e ‘di ko pa ba siya makuhang i-adopt,” according to Moreno.

 

Isko believes that the qualifications of the current president are suitable in the senate. “Bakit hindi? I think, well hindi natin pwedeng tawaran ‘yong kanyang kakayanan, he is a qualified candidate for the Senate, in fairness to him. Basta ito personal choice ko ha. In fairness to him, kami, for example, sa mga nagawa niya para sa Maynila, ‘yang Clark Airport,” explained Moreno.

 

“Makikinabang dyan mga tiga Maynila din, kasi gumawa ‘yan ng Clark-Malolos-Tutuban train, nakita ko ‘yon when we were in Malolos, nakita ninyo ‘yong train, tagos ‘yon hanggang airport. So that’s for us. ‘Yong Skyway. Kumbaga sa dami ng ginawa ni Pangulong Duterte, siguro naman sa labing dalawang senador, hindi naman kalabisan na iboto natin siya bilang senador?” he added.

 

If this happens, Samira Gutoc will be with President Duterte on the senatorial slate of Aksyon Demokratiko who also ran then under the opposition.

It will be recalled that Moreno's opinion of the President suddenly changed after Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go withdrew in his candidacy for the presidency. It is not yet known who the candidate for the presidency the President will support.

It will be recalled that Duterte then 1nsulted Moreno and called him "like a ca@l boy". The mayor  at the same time also criticized the current administration.
