Businessman Dennis Uy filed a cyb3r l1bel case against ABS-CBN for the alleged d3structive report of the said company a gainst him. In his cyb3r l1bel complaint filed last year in Davao City, Uy wanted that ABS-CBN will pay to him 200 million pesos for the two articles written against him by the said station.

The said report is about Malampanya transactions between Chevron and Uy’s Company Udenna Corporation. ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak, News Executive Lynda Jumilla and the reporter who wrote the article Anjo Bagaoisan were among Uy's defendants.

According to the businessmen, the said articles damaged his reputation which he had worked hard for several years. “I suff3red d@mages to my reputation to the public and my good standing in the business community here and abroad, which I built through many years of effort and expense. It will take years for me to recover from that reputational d@mage,” said Uy.

Uy insisted that the said transaction was private and the government had nothing to do with it. “The share purchase was a strictly private transaction between Udenna and Chevron. The government was not affected in any way,” he said.

Uy has one of the largest donations to President Rodrigo Duterte’s candidacy in 2016, which is why he received accus@tions from netizens left and right.

ABS-CBN has not yet made an official statement about the new c@se they are facing.
