'Daming Reklamador' — Mayor Richard Gomez, Dinepensahan ang Pagpabakuna ng PSG

Share:

In the last few days, some personalities have raised the issue of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) members who were vaccinated against coronavirus which has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

It will be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte shared that PSGs were vaccinated last December 2020. After President Duterte's statement, some politicians want to start an investigation into what happened. Like opposition Senator Franklin Drilon and members of the Makabayan Bloc in congress.

President Duterte, on the other hand, thr3atened to create a crisis if lawmakers insist on summoning PSG for a congressional and senate investigation.

“And I would like to call on Congress na hindi naman ako nakikiusap. Ang ano ko lang diretso na salita na do not tinker with the PSG. I’m telling you as President it’s a matter of self-preservation. So hanggang diyan na lang ako. I will not elaborate on it but do not force my hand to meddle into this affair because maybe I will not — I am not so keen about allowing Durante and the rest of the PSG to testify. Ginawa ito nila as I understand para sa kapakanan ng buhay nila. So if they will be called — if they will be called to testify in Congress, my — as a lawyer, I will just tell them because they are now being accu*sed and with the accompanying statement of pr0secution and things like that. And if that is the case, then I would ask the PSG to just sh*t up. Do not answer. Invoke the right against self-incrimination at wala kayong makukuha. And do not force my s0ldiers to testify against their will. At huwag ninyong i-contempt-contempt na i-detain ninyo. I do not think it will be good for you and for me. It would not be healthy for everybody,” said President Duterte.

Ormoc City Mayor Richard ‘Goma’ Gomez defended the vaccination of PSG members. According to Gomez, he don't understand why the good intentions of the PSGs to protect President Duterte were made an issue.

“I don’t understand some people why they make it a big issue. The President should be protected at all times. The security people of our President will have to be Covid free. That’s why kung may vaccination for them, let them be the first one, let the President be the first one to get the vaccine kay siya ang Presidente at kinsa man magbantay sa Presidente? Daghan man reklamador, sa una when Covid came to Philippines daghan reklamo ngano gi-testing man sila, ngano sila ma una, it’s the same thing with the vaccine. Time will come lahat tayo mahatagan og vaccine. Again, let us protect those who needs protection right now and the President is the number one priority,” said Gomez.
