A veteran journalist allegedly knows the reason why some reporters or the mainstream media are angry with President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a post, Jay Sonza allegedly sure that the media has lost a lot of money since Duterte took office. “May mga nagtanong sa akin bakit ganoon na lamang ang pagka- negative (anti-duterte) ng mga nasa mainstream media kay Mayor Digong. I am not sure of the other reasons. But I am certain of one.” according to Sonza.

“PRRD meant economic dislocation on some, if not most of the reporters, writers, producers, anchors and editors of the big newspapers, radio and television. Ang daming nawala. Ang daming nabago sa kalakaran sa gobyerno. Ang laking kawalan sa kabuhayang nakasanayan.” he added.

Sonza also mentioned the alleged source of money of those in the mainstream media that suddenly disappeared due to the current administration.

“The loss of big-time payola, payroll inclusion, “tara, butas, patong, ekis,” influence peddling, consultancy fees from oligarch and government contractors, PR monies and fringes. May nawalang paCondo, paBahay, paSUV, pang cafe de malate, pang-abroad, pang shopping, pang tuition ng anak, pangATM, pangMiyerkules,” said Sonza who has been a journalist for decades.

Sonza's post reached 1,500 shares. The said journalist is one of the most well-known supporters of President Duterte. But his posts on social media have also been criticized several times.
