But the President insisted that he will not allow the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to give ABS-CBN permission to operate again.
According to the President, the Lopezes must first pay taxes they have not paid to the government. “Yung Congress is planning to restore the franchise. Wala akong problema doon kung irestore ninyo. But if you say if they can operate, no. I will not allow the NTC to grant them the permit to operate,” said President Duterte. “Kung ibigay ninyo yung franchise because it is within your power to do it, go ahead. Unless and until, mabayaran ng mga Lopez ang taxes nila, I will ignore your franchise and I will not give them the license to operate,” he added.

It will be recalled that ABS-CBN was previously accu*sed of creating a way to avoid paying the right taxes. The Kapamilya Network has not yet issued a statement on President Duterte's new warning to them.
