For the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Command (WESCOM), the Chinese Coast Guard did not chase the Filipino boat carrying the Abscbn news crew.
According to AFP Western Command Commander Vice Admiral Ramil Roberto Enriquez, the Chinese were only observing the Filipinos. He added that the Chinese coast guard doubted because the Filipinos did not respond to the radio.
“Kung talagang hinabol kayo no’n, madali niya kayong inabutan. Inoobserbahan lang kayo no’n,. If we follow the dictum of ‘flight is an admission of guilt,’ bigla kayong umalis eh,” said Enriquez.
Vice Admiral Enriquez was not the only one who was hesitant of what the Abs-cbn crew was saying. It will be recalled that some personalities have also reacted about the issue. Some of them was Retired Journalist Jay Sonza.

Radio host and blogger Mark Lopez also criticized the Abs-cbn report. Anung kat*ngahan yung ginawa sa DISPUTED Waters?” said Lopez.
