Filipino-Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Maybelline Masuda cr1ticized netizens who seem to be involving politics to Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz's winning of the first gold medal in the Olympics.

In her Instagram story, Maybelline slamm3d critics for allegedly calling the government supporters (DDS) who were also celebrating Hidilyn's success for the country. According to her, anyone has the right to celebrate Hidilyn's victory no matter what their political beliefs are.

“Di ko gets ang point ng mga nagpaparinig sa mga DDS na “hindi sumoporta” kay Hidalyn dati. So ano bawal na mag congratulate sa tagumpay niya? Credit grabbing na agad?” said Maybelline “What the h3ll is happening? Can’t people just be genuinely happy for her and the country without fueling a divide?” she added.

It was here that Maybelline compared the previous administrations treatment towards them and said that the lack of support was really inevitable. But according to her, a lot has changed under the current administration and the facilities they use have improved.

She also said that the government did not leave them today even in the time of pand3mic.

“There has always been a lack of support from our government in sports since ever since, it isn’t something new. I witnessed and experienced firsthand just how ba*d it was during the previous admin and I can honestly say that the current admin’s support for our athletes in the 5 years has been tremendous compared to the s*** it used to be,” according to Jiu-Jitsu champion. “Our dorms, and sports facilities have improved like never before, our nutritional needs addressed meticulously with a functional cafeteria, we even have an athlete’s ID that has entitled us to discounts by law. These things were never heard before! And don’t forget we were able to successfully host the SEA GAMES with pride. More importantly we were never abandoned,” she added.
