Isinusulong ng netizens ang Petisyon na hindi na makabalik si Nas Daily sa Pilipinas!

Share:

Some netizens are pushing to declare Palestinian-Israeli Content Creator Nuseir Yassin or better known as Nas Daily persona non grata. It will be recalled that Yassin is accus3d of using indigenous people like Legendary Kalinga Tattoo Artist Apo Whang-Od to earn money.

One of the things that Yassin's company, Nas Academy, offered back then was an online course where Whang-Od can be seen teaching what she knew about tattooing or ‘pambabatok’ as it is called in Kalinga.

Some legal experts also said that what Nas did was ill3gal because he allegedly took advantage of indigenous people like Whang-Od.

As a result, thousands of netizens called on the government not to allow Yassin to return to the Philippines. According to the petition started by “Pinoy Ako”, the vlogger v1olated the law, so it is only right that he should not be given another chance to visit the Philippines.

“Exploiting Indigenous Filipino culture and art for money. He clearly v1olated the IPRA Law (Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997) Republic Act No. 8371, which is a Philippine law that recognizes and promotes the rights of indigenous cultural communities and indigenous peoples in the Philippines.” according to the petition.

As of this writing, more than 7,000 people have signed the said petition. Yassin's camp has not yet issued a statement on the petition not to return him to the Philippines.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) is currently inv3stigating the signing of the contract between Yassin and Whang-Od.
