In her speech at their caravan in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Inday Sara said that the experience in public service was one of the things she saw in Marcos so she chose him as president. “Bakit si Bongbong Marcos ang pinili kong partner? She also gave a message to her supporters and said that she preferred to be a vice president even though there is a chance for her to win the highest position in the government. “Sa huli, iiwan ko sa inyo ang mensahe — sa mga tumatawag pa rin sa akin na president. Ang tinatakbuhan ko ay vice president. Bakit? Because oftentimes in life, we find ourselves to be a leader. Pero sometimes, in our lives, we need to stand behind another leader,” she explained.
Inday Sara's comment was far from what her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, was saying against BBM. It will be recalled that the President called Marcos a "weak leader" and said that the former senator only carried the name of his father, Former President Ferdinand Marcos.
The president would also have preferred Inday to run for the highest position in the government and be a tandem with Senator Christopher “Bong” Go. But it seems that the mayor will not work in tandem with the former assistant to the President.
